Parent User Guides

Parent User Guides

All at St Marys' thank you for your support at this challenging time. Children and adults alike are using some of these platforms for the first time, so if something does not appear as you expect or is a challenge please use the following user guides as your first port of call. If you are still experiencing difficulties then contact the class teacher via email. Class teacher emails are available on the home learning class pages.

User Guides are available below for

USER ADVICE.

Providers such as Purple Mash, iXL, Education City, Times Table Rock Stars etc are offering use of their websites and resources free of charge over the periods of school closures. Therefore, they are experiencing a much higher volume of traffic than they are used to.

If you find you are unable to log onto a particular site, take a walk, have a drink complete a different activity and try again later. Lots of providers have notified teachers that they are trying to increase their server capabilities but this takes time.

Purple Mash Support

Support in the form of videos can be found by clicking on the links below.

A printable copy is at the bottom of the page should you need it. Children in school have already been taught how to access the activities set by their teacher and so should be familiar with this. Please note the home screen on your computer will look slightly different as we are using the most up-to-date version, but all menu items still work in the same way.

2dos and feedback can also be found by using the Alerts tab on the menu which looks like this:-

For further support please contact your class teacher in the first instance. Passwords can be found on the parent letter that was sent when we registered your child or inside their planners. (Inside home learning folders for Nursery and Reception)

A video to support parents to access the parent portal.  A user guide with video links to support children in accessing their learning tasks, including how to submit work to the teacher for marking.

E-safety, Safeguarding and Welfare.

Below are a range of support services anyone feeling in need of support can access.

To refresh our understanding of some of the generic mechanisms for staying safe online a E-safety quiz has been set for all year groups , starting Wednesday 25/03/20 via Purple Mash and will need to be completed by the end of the week. We would encourage you to talk about the answers with your children.
