Lent
Today is Ash Wednesday and the Season of Lent which does two things:
first, it prepares us to celebrate Easter and the four most important days of the Christian calendar:
The Mass of the Lord's Supper on Holy Thursday; the Lord's Suffering and Death on Good Friday;
his time in the tomb on Holy Saturday; and, his Resurrection on Easter Sunday.
Lent also reminds us of the great nobility and dignity which was given to us on the day of our Baptism;
during Lent, we prepare to renew our Baptismal Promises during the Easter Vigil.
There is one way I want to encourage you during this holy season by sharing with you
the Daily Gospel reflections from Bishop Robert Barron. He is the Auxiliary Bishop in Los Angeles. He is a great scholar and preacher.
His Word on Fire institute sends a daily email with a reflection on the daily Mass readings.
These are short and very helpful. Please find below today's reflection which I am sure you will appreciate.
