Dear Parishioners,
This evening, Monday 23 March, Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister, has asked everyone in the United Kingdom to stay at home except for shopping for necessities, exercise, medical care and travelling to and from essential work to stop the spread of the virus.
This means that it will no longer be possible to open the church for private prayer.
However, I want to assure you that I will celebrate Mass every day and keep all of you in my prayers.
I would like to encourage all of you to continue to watch the live stream Masses, making a daily Spiritual Communion with your daily prayers and to keep in touch with your families, friends and fellow parishioners.
Keep looking at the Deanery and parish Facebook pages.
Let’s encourage and look after each other. Let’s do all we can to stop the virus.
It may be tough, but we can get through this together.
‘O Lord, you have been our refuge from one generation to the next.’ The psalm writer had strong faith, we can have confidence that the Lord will be our refuge at this time.
